H.R. 3221 - First Time Buyers may qualify for Tax Credt

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 3221, the American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008.  The Senate concurred this past weekend.

This bill includes a temporary, $7,500 first-time home buyer tax credit which many believe will jump start the housing market and bring first time buyers off the sidelines. This $7500 tax credit would be available for any qualified purchase between April 8, 2008 and June 30, 2009. The credit is repayable over 15 years.

In addition to the First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit, H.R. 3221 includes FHA reform and FHA Foreclosure Rescue.  To see the full information on H.R. 3221 and how it can impact you click here

Fayette County Area Hospital News

The Former Tara Hospital in Brownsville will Re-open as the new Brownsville Tri-County Hospital.  The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 10 am, July 31, 2008.

Uniontown Hospital continues progress on it's expansion.  The expansion includes a new emergency department to offer the most advanced care in the region, reconfiguration of outpatient services and a patient tower with private rooms.  Visit the official website to keep updated on the most current progress.  When I visited their employment section today I saw that there were approximately 69 employment opportunities!  This is great news for area job seekers.

New baby at Pittsburgh Zoo

New baby at Pittsburgh Zoo

A new baby elephant was born early this morning at the Pittsburgh Zoo.  This is the second baby elephant that Pittsburgh Zoo has welcomed this year which is a rare occurrence.  If you are looking for a fun family day the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is definitely at the top of my pick list.  There is fun for the whole family.  Take a nice walk on the paved walking trails.  Enjoy a snack at the snack bar.  Visit up close and personal with the Kangaroos!  No matter which animal is your favorite the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium is sure to make you smile.
